Not all ALLOY RADIATORS are made the SAME!
Having the OE poorly designed radiator, the coolant doesn’t flow through the whole radiator as the Inlet and Outlet are on the same side, especially at higher RPM.
Triple Pass Alloy radiator, Externally looks as any other alloy radiators. But internally, baffles are made in the TOP and BOTTOM end tanks!
Well Proven at WTAC and VTAC evos since 2005 when we engineered this TRIPLE PASS custom radiator!
This is an in-house engineered radiator with a TRIPLE PASS designed into a stock standard size radiator.
TRIPLE PASS:
The COOLANT is directed to pass through the Radiator CORE 3 Times before returning back to the engine. This radiator addresses engine coolant temps by creating the effect of three separate radiators in one unit. This "Triple Pass" effect causes the coolant to pass through the cooling tubes of the radiator a total of three times dropping the coolant temperature each time providing the lowest possible temp coolant to enter the engine.
In most engines, the water pump is mechanical not electrical, which means the water pump is belt driven and is driven by the engine rpm.
When the engine is idling, the coolant does flow through most parts of the radiator core. BUT, once the revs climbs, the coolant is 'rushed' through the radiator due to the high increase in the speed of the water pump and the coolant will 'speed' through the radiator through the 'path of the least resistant'. So, it will not use the whole radiator core but the shortest route back to the engine, thus the cooling efficiency will reduce to the core efficiency of only 30 to 60% depending on the inlet and outlet locations of the radiator.
